To me visual is something that we can see and visualize. Visual is seeing or sight. It is also visible and perceptible by the mind.

Communication is the process of transferring information from a sender to a receiver with the use of a medium in which the communicated information is understood by both sender and receiver. It is a process that allows organisms to exchange information by several methods.
In its simplest form communication is the use of words to describe and convey a message or give information to another person. We communicate using language as a code to share information, ideas and feelings.
The following diagram was developed by Claude Shannon and Warren Weaver (1949 The mathematical theory of communication) to explain how communication works.

When one person sends a message to another, as the diagram shows, the person sending the message (represented as the circle on the left) has to encode their thoughts and feelings. They have to find some words or actions that will be a code for their meaning. The person receiving the message (represented as the circle on the right) can’t read the sender’s mind; they have to decode the words or actions to understand what the sender meant.

Visual communication is communication through visual aid. It is portrayed as the conveyance of ideas and details in forms that can be read or looked upon. Visual communication typically includes: signs, graphic design, illustration, drawing, color and electronic resources among others.

What is visual communication?
Visual communication between people is using “see” form of communication, is through the visual language to express way of communication.
Different regions, color, age, gender, people speaking different languages, through the visual and media interest in letter convey, emotional communication, culture communication, visual observation and experience can cross each other don’t know the language barriers, can remove the words of different barrier, with “map”, images, graphics, designs, drawings, diagram method, the schema of visual consensus for understanding and interaction.
Visual communication include: “visual symbol” and “communication” the two basic concept of so-called “visual symbol”, just as its name implies is refers to the human visual organ, eyes can see can represent things must be the symbol of nature, such as photography, television, film, plastic arts, buildings, all kinds of design, urban construction and various science, text, including stage design, music, heraldry, ancient COINS and so on all is to use eyes can see, they all belong to the visual symbol.
The so-called “communication”, it is to point to information the sender to the receiver using symbol information process, it can convey a body, also may be between individual communication, such as all the creatures, between man and nature, man and the environment and the body of information communication, etc.

What is the cultural connotation?
Culture is the reflection of human life, records, History of the sedimentary, it is people to life needs and requirements, the ideal and desire, is people’s senior spiritual life. She contains a certain thought and theory, it is people for ethical, moral, and order and follow, that is the way people life survival method and criterion. Dining etiquette difference
In the dining atmosphere, the Chinese would have a lively meal together. They would have dinner quietly and politely. They prefer a quiet environment. Good dining manners should be practiced. Rising your voice while eating is considered as rude.

Dress etiquette difference
Western man in social occasions usually wears a conservative style suits, inner wear white shirt and tie. They like black, so usually they would wear black leather shoes. Western woman on formal occasions wears a dress suit. Another woman have the custom of wearing earrings. Western countries, especially in the United States, people usually like to wear casual clothing, such as t-shirts and jeans. The Chinese people’s dress is westernization, traditional Chinese tunic suit, cheongsam have withdrawn from the stage of history. Formal occasions with western men and women dress has no two different. In the usual town life, you will see many people wearing vest, shorts and slippers which is the improper dress.
